I’m standing in a field in Mallorca listening to sheep bells, it is January, and this is the first flowering of the Almond blossom. On this tree I notice that all three stages of the almond are represented here, the bud, flower and nut in its shell. This reminded me of the triple Goddess, the Maiden, Mother and Crone.

This painting symbolises the Maiden - pure, fresh and blossoming as one, expressing maternal love, womb-like safety and wisdom.
