ASH TREE Fraxinus excelsior
Standing in the middle of Blean woods within a ‘stool’ of four ash tree trunks. My head feels buzzy and misty with the amazing energy I receive from this plant. I see in my mind a huge ‘x’ shape, this in the Norse Rune symbols represents a gift that comes after a sacrifice. In Norse mythology the God Odin hangs upside down from an ash tree without food or water, this sacrifice enabled him to gain magical knowledge through the runic symbols.
An owl hoots, often recognised as a portent to death or rather an ending of some sort. Maybe this sacrifice alludes to an ending of something, then a gift will be received. The bigger the sacrifice, the bigger the gift.
