INSPIRATION BEHIND MYSTICAL CREATURE PAINTINGS

MAGIC TORTOISE - Inspired by the giant tortoises in Mauritius.

MELLISA THE BEE GODDESS - Painted after visiting the cave of Apollo’s birth in Crete. Apollo was thought to have been fed as an infant on honey from Mellisa the Bee Goddess.

I felt bathed in warm air, as if I was in the breath of the Goddess. The buzzing seemed to surround me; it was like someone had poured honey into every cell of my body, vibrating to the sound of what I can only describe as, ‘Absolute Love’.

PERUVIAN CONDOR - Inspired by my visit to Peru I saw condors with a wingspan of up to three metres gliding over the rocky crags of the Andes. This bird is sacred to the Inca’s as it is thought to be the mediator between the Divinities and the earth, a powerful guide in Shamanic healing.

RAVEN - This mystical bird appears as my spirit guide when shamanic journeying.
